The Angel-4i brings together the performance of our Angel-4 power amplifier with a fully passive preamplifier stage derived from the Angel-Pre, creating an integrated amplifier designed for purity, transparency, and musical realism.
Building on the Angel-4 platform, the Angel-4i features an upgraded three-island power supply, the same architecture used in our Angel-6 reference amplifier. This design further enhances transparency and stability, allowing the amplifier to reveal more of the subtle detail within a recording.
At its core is our highly linear, low-feedback amplifier topology, engineered to deliver a relaxed, open presentation that allows music to flow naturally. This low-feedback philosophy extends throughout the design, including the power supply, where carefully regulated high-current DC rails ensure exceptionally clean and stable power delivery.
The output stage employs four ring-emitter transistors, sharing the current load to maintain linearity even under demanding conditions. This allows the Angel-4i to provide the current required to control loudspeakers with authority while preserving finesse and musical nuance.
The preamplifier section incorporates the passive circuitry from the Angel-Pre, paired with an ALPS “Blue Beauty” potentiometer for precise volume control and exceptional signal integrity. A motorised mechanism allows convenient adjustment via the supplied remote control.
Housed in a heavily machined aluminium chassis, the enclosure uses panels of varying thickness to minimise resonance and prevent vibration from reaching sensitive internal components. The included remote control is also precision-machined from solid billet aluminium, offering a tactile and elegant way to operate the amplifier.
Combining refined low-feedback engineering with high current capability, the Angel-4i delivers both subtle musical detail and effortless dynamic power, presenting recordings with scale, clarity, and emotional authenticity.
